Valerie Caruana - INGLOT Makeup Artist & Hair Stylist, Fgura Outlet

Concealer is a secret weapon; choose the right type, apply it well, and it can totally transform your makeup routine! If you’re only using your concealer one way, then you’re truly missing out as this product is extremely versatile. In this INGLOT Guide, our INGLOT Pro Valerie shares with us the multiple ways we can use concealer to get the most out of this awesome product!

1. Covering Spots:

In a perfect world, we’d all have flawless-looking skin. Of course, that’s not the case for most of us and if you are experiencing discolouration or blemishes you can make those spots go undercover faster than you’d think, by using the with the right concealer and technique. For such imperfections, we suggest using either INGLOT’s Coverup & Highlight Duo Concealer & Illuminator and INGLOT’s Freedom System Camouflage Concealer.

The Coverup & Highlight Duo Concealer is a waterproof concealer that gives strong coverage, a powder finish and illuminates the skin while covering any skin discolourations and imperfections.

One can also opt for our Freedom System Camouflage Concealer. These cover imperfections and ensure a flawless make-up finish. They also are super long-lasting and can completely cover up any redness, blemishes and even tattoos without drying out the skin!

How to Apply: With a small detailed brush such as INGLOT’s 20T Brush blend the concealer in by dabbing with moderate pressure on the blemishes and any discolourations. When using the brush don’t pull up or down, nor sideways, as that way you are essentially erasing the concealer. IDEA* If you have a blemish that is a different colour to your skin tone but not flat, cover with concealer then use a dark brown eyeliner to make it look like a beauty mark!

UNDER-EYE Corrector:

When it comes to under-eye correction, we suggest that you use a fluffy brush such as the INGLOT 40TG Brush, as this helps apply the product lightly and evenly on the skin. We suggest using a concealer in a shade lighter than your skin tone and not to go far beyond the eye area so as not to lose the highlighting effect. A little amount goes a long way.

Due to a lot of movement happening in the eye area, we suggest that you set the concealer with a setting powder such as our light and mattifying INGLOT Translucent Loose Powder which will help keep your concealer in place all day.

INGLOT’s Under-Eye Concealer helps cover and further reduce dark circles and its organic silicones and vitamin E help smoothen, moisturise and nourish the skin, while also reducing puffiness.

2. For better coverage:

If you need coverage on multiple areas, like on your cheeks or the centre of your face, or you have some pores you need to cover, we suggest mixing your concealer and foundation together. This will give you better coverage, help you achieve an even skin tone and fasten your overall makeup application! Using a slightly lighter concealer than your foundation will give you a soft highlight and glow.

INGLOT Cream concealer is ideal, as it is a creamy transfer-resistant concealer that blends perfectly without clogging pores. Its superior mattifying agents ensure a long-lasting matte finish, leaving the skin protected and smooths textural differences.

3. As Contour:

When it comes to contouring with concealer, you’ll need to use two shades, one lighter and the other darker than your skin tone. Apply the darker shade directly under the cheeks and blend it out and upwards. Apply the lighter shade on the forehead, under the eyes and as a base for your eye shadow. To set it, apply a light amount of powder.

As a tinted moisturiser: If you are a looking for lighter coverage and just need to cover up some small imperfections, we suggest that you mix your concealer with a moisturizer. Not all concealers work well when mixed with moisturizers, for this, we suggest the INGLOT AMC Cream Concealer.

INGLOT’s AMC Cream Concealer can be easily blended out to be used as a foundation. It is enriched with vitamin E and A and includes pigments and light diffusers that help provide a soft-focus effect.
